Fishery for Furcellaria in Denmark
The Fishery for Furcellaria has been a lucrative business for fishers in Denmark from the late forties to mid-seventies. The furcellaria population decreased slowly from there and in the late nineties the last seaweed fisher in Nysted went on land.
In this project we have looked at the possibilities to revive the fishery and give our best estimate on stock size and a plan for a sustainable fishery.
